For some parents, today brought a big blessing. Several local families welcomed their newest addition at area hospitals on 12-12-12. One of those families, is the Alderman Family.

They say they will always remember what happened to them on the 12th day of the 12th month of the 12th year of the century.

"His due date was Christmas day," Lauren Alderman said, "But we ended up going in a little early. I was induced last night, but it was purely by chance."

Like most children, Baby August couldn't wait until Christmas, weighing in at 8 pounds even, a little after 7:00 am.

"He's been perfect, we feel very blessed," Lauren said.

Mom and Dad say they didn't plan it, but they're happy he came today.

"Santa came and took a picture with him. He's the perfect little Christmas present."

Lauren says he looks mostly like her, but has his dad's mouth and feet.

"He's been with us for the past 9 months," Kyle Alderman said. "It's amazing actually seeing and holding him."

Kyle's mom can take credit here; she guessed first that August would arrive on 12-12-12.

"Everyone took a bet and my mom said it first, but I don't think it even set in until a few days ago when someone pointed it out." Kyle said.

The Alderman's hope to make August a big brother one day, but not anytime soon, and they don't plan on having anymore unique birth dates.
