Dozens of volunteers have made a committment in helping  raise money and collect donations for the 27th annual Share Your Christmas food drive.

However, some  had to fight a little more than others to make it happen.

One volunteer explains, "She got sick this morning and we told we couldn't come."

His daughter, five-year-old Kiley was not having it. She says she has been waiting all year for this day to help those in need.

"She talked us in for about 45 minutes to come out this afternoon to where she can help before she's got to go home and get back in bed," says Cale Theilen.

The Theilen family and several others joined together to get the job done. From volunteers, to donors, and even our KRBC staff, a lot of work has gone into the event.

Employees of First Financial Bank turned the food drive into somewhat of a competition in the work place.

"We've had bake sales, we had a 5K walk/run that we added this year and we have a soup and chili day to help raise money for the food bank and then we bring it all out here," says a bank employee.

Bag, after bag, after bag was added to the food bank's truck, showing everyone just how much our community comes together to help those in need.

"I know it's something I like to try to make sure the kids understand about giving back to people who are less fortunate as they grow up and realize to give back for the things that they have as well," Theilen adds.

Even though she had to do a little begging and convincing to do her part while sick, I think it is fair to say Kiley has learned a good lesson, in what this season is all about.
