Power 103 Rooftop Toy Drive to Benefit Hendrick Home for Children
By: Press Release
Updated: December 13, 2012
The drive will begin at noon on Thursday, December 13 with the Abilene Fire Department hoisting Laci up to the top of the roof. The fun continues until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16.
Volunteers will be at the general merchandise entrance to Wal-Mart collecting gifts for the children of Hendrick Home.
Currently, there are 60 girls, boys, and single parents living at the Abilene Home, including 12 single moms.
The children range in age from 1 to 19-years-old. About half are grade school and middle school students and the other half are teenagers.
They would appreciate gifts suitable to school age children and enjoy Christian CD's, clothes, socks, wallets, photo frames and albums, jewelry, initialed items, team logo accessories, make-up, cologne, perfume and bath and body sets.
Basically, Hendrick kids like the same things your kids like!
The response for the past 20 years has been tremendous and Hendrick Home appreciates the generosity of Wal-Mart Super Center, the Power-103 team, the Abilene Fire Department, the wonderful Big Country community, and the many volunteers who make Christmas special for these children.
