Updated: December 13, 2012
Dyess Air Force Base received the newest aircraft in its 317th airlift group today.

Major General William Bender of the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center delivered the newest C-130j Super Hercules transport aircraft to Dyess Thursday.

This particular version of the aircraft incorporates state-of-the-art technology to reduce manpower workloads.

This new version also lowers operating costs, as well as saving money over the life-cycle of the aircraft.

This is the 24 of 28 C-130j models that will be delivered to the 317th airlift group at Dyess.
