Running Afoul of a Second Chance?

By: Victor Sotelo
Updated: December 13, 2012
An Abilene teen who got a break of a lifetime may have thrown a second chance out of the window.

It was reported ealier this year that Joseph Fowler got a seven year probation sentence after his best friend was shot and killed during a game of Russian Roulette.

Fowler was charged with criminal negligent homicide.

When the judge sentenced him to probation, he said there was nothing he could do to bring Fowler's friend back, but he could try and change Fowler's life by giving Fowler a second chance, and warned Fowler not to violate his probation.

That was on November 2.

Four days later a drug test found marijuana and meth in Fowler's system, which he admitted to doing, according to court papers

Fowler was supposed to be in court Thursday on a motion to revoke his probation, but he is contesting the charges and will be in court at a later date.
