"It is really busy today, isn't it? On Monday? I did not realize it was going to be this busy today," a confused Dorothy Simmons tells us.
News quickly spread that, according to the U.S. Postal Service, today is the busiest shipping day of the year.
"Today is supposed to be the worst day in the world to ship envelopes and packages," Linda Easterling says.
While some holiday shoppers try to avoid shipping gifts, for many, a trip to the post office proved inevitable.
"Shopping was a breeze this year because i am sending money. I just have this one package," Easterling exclaims.
However, there is a way to avoid the holiday shipping rush.
"If you can do it online, you are better off. There are a lot of good options there," former USPS worker Henry Martin explains.
For most folks at the U.S. Postal Office on Buffalo Gap Road, the long lines are not a deterring factor, because they know that today is the last day to ship holiday gifts and have them arrive on time for Christmas morning unwrapping.
