Monday morning a victim reported the burglary of a building at a business in the 700 block of Oak Street. Officer Don Brown responded to the call and learned that a door to the business was forced open sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning. Suspects involved in this incident stole industrial equipment, including lawn equipment and a mountain bike. Total loss is estimated at approximately $8,300.00 dollars. A report for felony burglary of a building was taken and this investigation continues.

Monday morning a victim reported the theft of an engine from a residence in the 5600 block of Golden Eagle Drive. Officer Kathi Rhodes took this call and learned that the victim's Chrysler, model 318 engine, was stolen from an engine stand left out in the driveway. The victim claimed the engine was valued at approximately $9,000.00 dollars and that the crime occurred sometime between December 8 and Sunday afternoon. A report for felony theft was taken.

Monday morning at about 11:10 a.m., Officers Michael Janusz and Stan Meiser responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 2400 block of Mimosa Drive. A concerned citizen contacted APD dispatch and stated that two male subjects were peering into apartment and vehicle windows. The calling party stayed on the phone with dispatch and was able to further describe their suspicious behavior and further alleged that one of the subject's had entered a vehicle. The calling party provided a thorough description of only one of the subjects because the other subject kept disappearing. Officers located the subject described by the calling party in a parking lot in the 3400 block of Sherry Lane. Officer Janusz' preliminary investigation revealed that the male subject denied any wrongdoing and his investigation discovered no evidence of a crime. However, a records check confirmed that the male subject had an outstanding arrest warrant for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. The subject was arrested for the warrant.
