"Broken, hurting, desolate individuals radically changed with a passion for life," said My Father's Floors owner Geradine Dalton Heisey.
Partnering with My Father's Floors to raise money, the Dream Center will be giving away "Life Start-Up Kits."
"The intetnion of it was to pay for the $750 that it takes to get into the Dream Center cause a lot of people have an issue with that coming in, and the burden goes once again to the family members," said director Rey Sandoval.
Don Fletcher knows how important something like this can be. He was addicted to drugs for 26 years. And it was through another ministry paying for treatment that allowed him to get help.
"I didn't have any money. And I didn't have anything to do and I was just lost and undone and needed help," he explained.
Now he is the intake coordinator for the center, and knows how hard it can be for many families when they don't have the money.
"It's frustrating," said Don. "It's frustrating when you talk to a family member and they don't have a way to get them here, they don't have a way to take care of them while they're here."
Now, Don gets to help more who have been in the same place he was.
"You know, it just really thrills my heart. That's payment enough," he said.
And will be able to give more recovering addicts a fighting chance.
Donations - big or small - for Start Up Kits can be taken to My Father's Floors or the Abilene Dream Center at 2802 Old Anson Road.
