Christmas in the Street

But these people are not getting these things for themselves.
One of the volunteers stated her experience as "it's a blessing to come out here and serve these people. They have little to nothing and to give them something we would think is so small, it just brings so much joy to their life. It's huge for us. It's so humbling."
It all started twelve years ago.
Each year love and care ministries takes brand new presents to less fortunate residents of Abilene apartment complexes.
"It's not about receiving, receiving and getting and getting, it's about giving back and seeing these people so happy and just so elated, so joyful. At least one day of the year they deserve that." said a volunteer.
One mother of four was simply taking her trash out when she was approached by a group of people with presents.
It was such an unexpected blessing. Bringing tears to her eyes thinking that people who had never met her before were so willing to give out of the kindness of their hearts.
Another volunteer chimed in on the special service she gets to experience with her son saying "I've been looking for something like this to share with my son for a long time just to show him the real Christmas spirit and this is a blessing to us. This is the best Christmas present we've ever had to be a part of this."
Spreading the love of Christ to all of god's creation. The true meaning of Christmas.
The pastor of Love and Care Ministries said the end of every year would not be the same if he did not plan Christmas on the street. He plans on doing this again, same time, same city, next year.
