Jesus Fellipe Lopez, was booked into Brown County jail on the charge after allegedly assaulting a teenage female relative on Thursday, according to Assistant Chief of Police James Fuller.

Fuller said that officers were called to the 1000 block of W. Commerce Thursday around noon to the report of a male and female running down the road arguing.

Officers made contact with the two, the suspect and victim's mother, along with the teen in the alleyway next to the Law Enforcement Center near Sunset Terrace Apartments.

The female told police that a sexual assault occurred and Lopez was arrested.

The victim was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene for evaluation. Lopez remained jailed Friday.
