Whatever their goals may be, the gym is where you'll find them.

"At the beginning of the year is where we look at 500 plus families, that's not individuals, that's families," says Jazper Solis, YMCA trainer.

And they're more than happy to be there.

"They're really energetic whenever they get here. First month, first two months are pretty cool. Then after that, they slowly start fading away," says Solis.

On of the reasons they stop coming has everything to do with patience.

"They don't find the results they want to see quickly, but then again, whenever it comes to losing weight, there are no quick results."

For some it's not about quick results, it's about an external motivator.

"I encourage them to take classes because it's not only them, other people are trying to be healthy as they are. In there they actually have someone motivating them," explains Solis.

Gyms are now fully equipped with something for everyone.

"Boot camps, extreme fits, we have Zumba, water aerobics," says Solis.

If you establish some self-discipline, your reflection will thank you.

"You're gonna finish out where you want," says Solis. "It may not be as soon as you want but it'll get there eventually as long as you stick with it."

This year why not make getting in shape not just your goal but your accomplishment.
