AUSTIN - The ACU Wildcats hit 10 3-point field goals and buried all 15 of their free throw attempts Saturday afternoon as they returned from the Christmas break with a 67-58 win over St. Edward's in women's non-conference basketball action.

Renata Marquez and Mackenzie Lankford each scored 14 points, while freshman Kynzie Newman had 10 points off the bench.  Lankford was 4 of 10 from 3-point range, while Newman and Marquez hit a pair of 3-pointers apiece.  Sadie Dickinson - who scored seven points - had a 3-pointer as did Savannah Smith, who scored nine points in 14 minutes off the bench.

The Wildcats led by as many as 15 points in the first half, but saw all of that lead evaporate in the second half as St. Edward's eventually took a 52-50 lead with 6:47 to play on a Kendria Field layup.  However, ACU outscored the Hilltoppers 17-6 in the last 6:24 of the game to pull out the win and improve to 7-2 on the season with their third straight win.

Freshman guard Whitney West got the run started with a game-tying layup and then Smith gave the Wildcats the lead for good with a 3-pointer at the 5:30 mark to push the Wildcats to a 55-52 lead.  Newman then hit a pair of free throws to make it 57-52 with 5:04 to play.

The Wildcats then went 10 for 10 from the free throw line in the final 3:58 to seal the win.  Smith and Marquez were each 4 for 4, while Dickinson sealed it with two free throws with five seconds to play.

The Wildcats will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 3, when they host Midwestern State in a key Lone Star Conference matchup at Moody Coliseum.  Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
