Truck Damages Overpass

By: BCHP News Staff
Updated: December 31, 2012
A busy highway overpass structure sustained some minor damage in a traffic accident Monday morning.

A tractor-trailer rig ran into the metal supports at the Winters Freeway overpass on South 7 street.

The bridge is marked at slightly less than 13 feet tall, but the truck-trailer was too tall to pass under the structure.

The truck driver didn't stop after the trailer scraped the bridge supports. Local Texas Department of Transportation employees say the bridge is still safe, and other trucks have hit the structure in the past.
