Stephens County Sheriff-Elect Billy Wade takes office at midnight, despite an earlier incident involving an altercation with another Breckenridge police officer. Wade talked about the incident after he was sworn into office Monday morning. He says the incident was blown out of proportion.

After a rumored investigation by outside agencies, the outgoing Stephens County Sheriff, Dan Young says it is a sad day for the county, Not only because of the incident, but because when Wade takes over at the first of the year, he may not have a staff. Dan Young said he knows his staff is not working for the new sheriff.

KTAB will have a crew on scene in Stephens County to cover the transition.
