Abilene Police arrested a suspected drunk driver early Tuesday morning after they say he plowed into a van at Buffalo Gap Rd. and Clack, causing the van to overturn.

The suspect then attempted to drive off, but his car was too badly damaged.

There were no serious injuries, but Abilene Police Chief Stan Standridge says the wreck shows the need to reduce the culture of drinking and driving in the city, and he will direct APD officers to take steps to enforce DWI laws even more stringently this coming year.
