Tuesday afternoon at about 4:30, Officer Jacob Weise responded to an assault call at Li Sun's Acupressure & Massage inside the Mall of Abilene.

The female victim told Abilene police that she had been sexually assaulted at the business after she had fallen asleep in a massage chair.

The known male subject was contacted and positively identified as the subject involved in the assault. Police have identified the suspect as 47 year-old Jingbo Xu. Xu was arrested and is in the Taylor County Jail on a felony sexual assault charge. His bond has been set at $100,000.

Other crimes investigated on New Years Day:

Tuesday morning at about 11:10, Officer Loren Adlesperger contacted a motorist in the 2000 block of South 14 Street for speeding. Officer Adlesperger contacted the female driver and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver. The vehicle was occupied by two other persons. The driver began conducting field sobriety tests and performed one of the tests poorly. The driver then became uncooperative and kept wanting to get back inside her vehicle. Her actions led to her arrest. A search of the driver revealed a clear plastic bag containing marijuana that was located inside her pocket. A records check of the driver and passengers was conducted. That check revealed that the driver had three municipal arrest warrants for traffic violations and that one of the passengers, a female, had an outstanding arrest warrant for theft. Application for a search warrant for a sample of the driver's blood was made and granted by a judge. The driver was arrested on her warrants and for misdemeanor DWI and possession of marijuana. The passenger was arrested on her warrant. This investigation continues.

Tuesday night at about 11:15, Officer Jordan Brown contacted a motorist in the 5000 block of North 10 Street for a traffic violation. Officer Brown contacted the male driver and smelled the odor of burning marijuana. The driver advised Officer Brown that he had smoked some marijuana and that he currently possessed some in a bag. A search revealed a clear plastic bag containing marijuana. The driver was arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
