Chief Stan Standridge says he's going to continue enforcing APD's "Stay Alive, Don't Drink and Drive" campaign, program started last year with a goal of cracking down on the crime.
While he says he doesn't have the luxury of adding more officers to the streets, they will be on the lookout for drunk drivers.
Currently, APD conducts about 28,000 traffic stops a year.
The Chief says that number will remain the same with a closer eye on drunk driving.
