KTAB PM Forecast: Wednesday, January 2, 2013

A strong storm system, is still on track to move out of Old Mexico and track across West Texas, bringing chances for rain, sleet, and snow tomorrow night into Friday morning. Snow accumulations of around 1" with some locations getting as much as 2" are possible across the Concho Valley. Lighter snow, possibly mixed with rain will be possible south of a Sweewater to Abilene to Brownwood line.  If the snow develops, travel conditions could become more hazardous across The Big Country and Heartland.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3pm Thursday to 6am Friday for the following Big Country counties: Coke and Runnels.  2" - 4" of snow is possible Thursday night and Friday morning mainly west of a Sterling City to San Angelo to Sonora line. That same time, a Rain/Snow mix is possible across the Big Country and Heartland. Snow accumulations of 1" or less, with isolated higher amounts.
