Texas Public Radio (TPR) announced it is now able to provide public radio service to the Big Country.

The new, non-profit FM station reaches Snyder, Sweetwater, Colorado City, Big Spring and surrounding areas which are presently out of range of other public radio providers. This is the first major expansion for Texas Public Radio's services since the debut of KTXI 90.1 FM in the Texas Hill Country in 1998.

Located on the FM dial at 89.9, the new public radio station features award-winning content from National Public Radio, American Public Media and Public Radio International, as well as original content from Texas Public Radio.

Big Country listeners are now able to tune into popular news magazine shows such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered. They are also able to join the national conversation by phoning in to national call-in shows such as The Diane Rehm Show and Talk of the Nation.

In addition, weekend programming includes public radio staples such as Car Talk, Prairie Home Companion, This American Life and Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!

Texas Public Radio also provides insight into news from across the state with news reports, weather reports and public service announcements.

TPR is a community of listener-supported, non-commercial radio stations in South Central Texas and the Hill Country.

KSTX 89.1 FM is a regional source for in-depth news, information and entertainment programs, and is San Antonio's only source for National Public Radio's flagship newsmagazines, Morning Edition and All Things Considered.

KPAC 88.3 FM is the only source for 24/7 classical music in San Antonio. KTXI 90.1 FM offers a blend of classical music, news and information programming in the Hill Country. More information is available at www.tpr.org.
