On Thursday nights, bible study is normally held at Freedom Fellowship Church, but this Thursday one regular attendee is being remembered instead.

"She meant a lot to everybody here," says Robert James.

44-year-old Tina Brown was well known in the Abilene homeless community.

James says, "She was real happy."

"I loved her to death. It was just her outgoing spirit," Heather Couch adds.

Early Thursday morning, Tina Brown was hit by a truck as she was crossing the street. She later died.

Her friends and family say her ability to bring a smile to anyone's face is something they will always remember.

Couch explains, "She'd always tell you, 'Now I can't dance, but boy I can bounce.'"

Many people in attendance at Thursday night's vigil shared good times they had with Brown, including her children, who just spent the Christmas holiday with her.

"There with us for Christmas she talked about y'all and the care she had for y'all. It was just amazing," her son shares.

Tina Brown left many memories with those she cared for and loved in Abilene and she will be greatly missed.

James says, "It's like God had taken something from somebody from here to be with him and whereever she's at now, I'm glad she's in a better place instead of suffering."
