Friday morning at about 12:20 a.m., Lieutenant Craig Jordan observed a male subject in the roadway yelling profanities in the 500 block of Poplar Street. When Lt. Jordan attempted to contact the subject, the subject ran from him. Officer Michael Garcia responded to assist and the male subject was contacted a short distance later. Officer Garcia's investigation revealed that the subject had the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. During this investigation, the subject became aggressive and belligerent. The subject was arrested for two misdemeanor offenses: evading detention and public intoxication.
