There will soon be a new pizza shop in downtown Abilene.

The Abilene Pizza Company is setting up shop downtown on Pine street.

They are moving into the space of the former Sweet Celebrations Bakery.

The owner of the new pizzeria, Leray Scifres, says he will offer gourmet pizzas and sweet Italian treats.

"In speaking with several friends that work in the downtown area, they've always said they wish there were more places they could eat quickly during lunch," Scifres notes.

Scifres intends to be ready for business by the end of February or beginning of March.

Workers are now remodeling the restaurant.
