It's the sound of pure bliss.

"It's like a blessing to me because we don't get much snow here at all. I love snow, it's like happiness for me," says Eithan Russell.

"We're in heaven but with cars and stuff," says Christian Rivera.

"It's a blessing because we never get it. And every time it happens, we just enjoy it to the fullest," says Trisha Russell.

After nearly an hour of rolling giant snowballs, their hard work was worth it.

"We did it!"

The snow ball fight began but the temperature wasn't an issue.

"Since we're used to hot weather, I could stay out here for hours, " says Trisha Russell.

It also helped that all this fun was replacing school work.

"Yes! Because I don't really like school but we have to go to learn and just be smart," says Tytionna Hamilton.

It was a day some have been waiting for.

"Yeah, I hope for it. It don't happen very much but I hope it comes at least once a year," says Eithan Russell.

Then tragedy strikes and the snowman they've been waiting for collapses.

"I feel sad because of all the hard work we put into that and it fell," says Jeremaya Ibara.

But don't worry...

"Ok we got another one to do," says Eithan Russell.

And the next time...

"It's gonna be big, I think a little bigger than the other one," says Ibara.

On this cold and snowy day, perhaps we can all learn a little something from the children.
