Doggy Fun at Camp Barkeley

By: Liz Gonzales
Updated: January 7, 2013
It's been open for over a year and it's the only dog park in Abilene. Camp Barkeley features two fenced-in areas for your dog, a one-acre lot for small dogs and a two-acre lot for big dogs. It's a completely leash free park where your pet can run wild and get the exercise they need.

You may also find that your dog isn't the only one making friends.

"Well it's really important, it gives the dog something to do and the owner something to do. And they can go out and meet other owners and share information on specific breeds," says dog owner Lee Allen.

Camp Barkeley is open from dusk till dawn and is located right across from the Abilene Zoo.
