Man Hit by Car on I-20 Access Road

A man was sent to the hospital after getting hit by a car along the I-20 access road early Sunday morning.

It happened near the Tye exit around 3 a.m.

Police said the man ran out of gas and was walking to Tye to get more.

An ambulance took him to the hospital. 

Officers said the man was awake and talking at the scene.
