Appliances Spark Two Fires Sunday Causing Hefty Property Loss

On Sunday at approximately 8:53 a.m. a call was placed to 911 for a sign of smoke in the 200 block of Arnold Blvd.

Upon arrival there was heavy smoke and fire showing from a travel trailer. Once on the scene, fire department personnel quickly extinguished the fire.

Fire investigators are investigating this fire as an electrical fire from a coffee pot. There were no injuries in relation to this fire, to citizens or Fire Personnel.

In all 4 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, Battalion 1, Field Resource Medic and Arson Investigator responded to this call.

Damage cost to the travel trailer is unknown. but it was a loss. 

Also on Sunday, at approximately 10 p.m., a call was placed to 911 for a structure fire in the 2500 block of Russell Ave.

Upon arrival there was smoke showing from the structure.

Once on the scene fire department personnel quickly extinguished the fire.

Fire Investigators found that a gas water heater had caught nearby combustibles on fire in a closet.

There were no injuries in relation to this fire, to citizens or Fire Personnel.

In all 4 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, Battalion 1, Field Resource Medic and Arson Investigator responded to this call.

Damage cost to the home is estimated to be approximately $25,000.
