Mayor Says Moving Exit Ramp will be Good for Business

The resolution to move the west-bound exit ramp for Highway 351 has been passed and the city is waiting to hear back from TxDOT.

Mayor Norm Archibald said that while he agrees that switching to one-way frontage roads is important for safety, it is also necessary to move that exit ramp to bring in more business for travelers along the interstate.

The issues is that interstate travelers they can't see what's in that business hub along the highway until after they've passed the exit.

" You have to exit right then without knowing and visibly being able to see here's where all these restaurants are," Mayor Archibald explains. "And there's a whole group of restaurants there that could benefit from travelers going on the interstate."

The resolution has been given to TxDOT who says they are willing to work with the city and see if the project is feasible.
