Man Killed in Industrial Accident

The Taylor County Sheriff's Office tells Big Country Homepage a Smithville man who was currently living in Buffalo Gap was killed in an accident at Smith Pipe in the Caps community Monday evening. Just after 6:30 a 911 call for help came in that a tank had slid off a trailer and landed on someone at the Smith Pipe facility on Highway 277 near Caps. EMS and Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the scene. He was pronounced dead at the scene just after 8PM by Ronnie Doan, Justice of the Peace.

Tuesday the Taylor County Sheriff identified the man who was killed as 38 year old Thomas Blain Stewart, an employee of Smith Pipe.
