The Cooper Cougars are one of the hottest teams in District 2-5A heading into the last 9 games of the season.

The Cougars started the district season with an 0-3 record, but they seem to have gotten things turned around.

Head coach Marc Case's team has put together a 4-game winning streak, and they are right in the thick of the playoff hunt.

"We talk about a lot of times with our guys that 90 percent of basketball games, even though we try to make it complicated, is about making free throws and lay-ups. We've been able to close out and making plays at the end to win close games," said head coach Marc Case.

"When we first started out in district our attitude wasn't really good. We weren't getting good team play together in practice. So, we all had a personal meeting and team dinner. We go to team dinner and meeting together and it gets our team chemistry better. When we come to the court we're all together as one," said Dante Lowry.

The Cougars get back into action on Friday night. They try to make it 5 wins in a row against Lubbock Coronado up in Lubbock.
