US 180/US 84 Bridge in Snyder Remains Closed

By: Pres Release
Updated: January 9, 2013
The US 180/US 84 bridge in Snyder is currently closed due to an oversize/high load striking the westbound span and causing major damage.

The road will remain closed until repairs are made or the bridge is replaced.

TxDOT officials from the Bridge Division in Austin and the Abilene District are currently assessing the damage.

Temporary detours are set up to route US 180 east bound traffic onto SH 208.

US 180 westbound traffic will exit on the US 84 ramp north.

Traffic both north and southbound on US 84 will exit off at the ramp and use the frontage road to exit back on to US 84 past the bridge. Westbound US 180 permitted loads only will detour to FM 1673.

TxDOT is currently working on an emergency contract to repair or replace the bridge and permanent detours will be set up when this contract begins.
