Head coach Russell Perkins' team is ranked at number 5 in the state by the coaches, and so far, they are 19-4 this season. All of that is nice, but in the end, those games don't mean anything. The 10 district games are the ones that matter, and those game start on Friday night against Big Spring.
"It really is the start of new things, new things start on Friday when we start to play District games, and we've had a great start to the season, and hopefully have built a great foundation that we can continue on, but we are excited for the chance to play those games that are real, and we've been pointing to January 11th for a long time." Says Head Coach Russell Perkins.
"We've got a couple of new teams so i think what we need to focus on is taking it one day at a time. We're not guaranteed that spot already, we have to work for it." add Deandre Key.
"We are ready to play out best basketball when district comes. Keeping our eye on the goal and focusing on one game at a time, not looking ahead." adds Duane Hopper.
District 4-3A play starts for the boys on Friday at Bulldog Gym. They play the Big Spring Steers in the 2nd game of the night's doubleheader. The girls start at 6:15. The boys tip at 7:30.
