Cowboy Church Conference

By: Liz Gonzales
Updated: January 12, 2013
More than sixty pastors gathered this morning to learn how to better lead their congregations.

Cowboy churches are one of the fastest growing churches in Texas and across the nation.

Their goal is to draw people who might never attend a traditional church by connecting them with a community where they can feel at home.

" These people, a lot of them haven't been going to church. I met a man this morning that's 70 years old, he just started going back to church because the cowboy church fit him. It's a more simple approach and the service is a simple format," says Charles Higgs, director of Western Heritage Texas Ministries.

The Cowboy Church welcomes all people to come and experience religion with a western twist.
