It happened Wednesday just before 8 p.m. on I-20 near Ranger Hill. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 55-year old Marcus Deveneau was traveling with a passenger and lost control, jackknifing his truck.

That's when two other oncoming cars stopped to offer the two men help. Soon after, an 18-wheeler couldn't brake soon enough, and hit a bystander, as well as the pickup truck with the two men inside.

The pedestrian, Tiffany Lola Lowe, 22, of Ranger, was killed, and the other three men, Corydon Haley, 50; and Taylor Von Robinson, 20; and Deveneau, were taken to the hospital with injuries.

DPS believes rain and slick roads played a factor. They continue their investigation.
