Abilene Crime Stats for 2012

The Crime Stats have been released for January through December of 2012.

In comparison to 2011, most crimes, including violent crimes such as rape, homicid and assault have remained relatively the same from the prior year.

Assault had the most significant increase with 554 assaults recorded in 2012, up from 493 over the same period in 2011.

The rates of burglary and theft remained relatively unchanged from 2011, except for motor vehicle and larceny theft.

Larceny rose from 631 in 2011, to 765 in 2012, and motor vehicle thefts rising from 14 to 25.
