Abilene Christian women's head coach Julie Goodenough won her 300th game as a head coach last night when her Wildcats beat Incarnate Word.

The Haskell native's career started as a volunteer coach at Lubbock Christian and now almost 20 years later she reached a coaching milestone.

Not every person was born to be a teacher or a coach, but Goodenough says this is exactly what she was meant to do with her life.

Coach Goodenough said, "I love basketball. I feel like one of my spiritual gifts is teaching, and the thing that I feel like I know the most about is basketball. It's just been awesome that I've had opportunity to coach college women's basketball my entire career, and I can't imagine doing anything besides coaching."

Senior guard Mack Lankford added, "We totally believed in everything she told us, and after a few games and running it like she wants it, we could tell, I mean, we're 11-3, it works. (Laughing) It works pretty good."

The Wildcats are 11-3 on the season and in the hunt for the Lone Star Conference title. They travel down south to take on Texas A&M/Kingsville on Saturday at 1.
