Head coach Brian Woodard's team beat Cooper to improve to 5-4 in District 2-5A play and maintained their spot in 4th place in the district.
It was a good win for the Eagles, and now they have to maintain their momentum heading into the 2nd half of the year.
"We just treated the game like a district game. We didn't want to make the game more than what it is. So, we just played them like any other opponent, and we can't celebrate to long because we still have a task at hand," said Darian Bradford.
"It had playoff implications to be honest. We're gaining a step towards the postseason. We don't look at it as, 'hey it's cooper' and coach Case doens't look at it like its Abilene High. We're just trying to win the next game, and that just happened to be the next game," added coach Woodard.
Abilene High doesn't play another game this week. They continue district play next Tuesday at home against Lubbock Coronado.
