Police Make Major Identity Theft Arrest

On Wednesday, January 16, Narcotics agents from the Taylor County Sheriff's Office arrested 22-year-old Jaclyn Oliver for three outstanding warrants. The warrants included Motion to Revoke Probation and Debit Card Abuse. 

The arrest was made pursuant to a traffic stop when the Agents recognized her as being wanted. During a lawful search of the vehicle, incident to Oliver's arrest, there was a substantial amount of evidence related to identity theft and other fraud crimes discovered. 

Investigators with Taylor County's Criminal Investigation Division were called to assist in processing the evidence which includes, but is not limited to, documents containing 32 separate identities, evidence of at least 2 car burglaries, and drug paraphernalia containing traces of methamphetamine.

The evidence is believed to be related to crimes committed by at least 5 people in Taylor, Jones, Nolan, Runnells, Coleman and Callahan counties. 

Jaclyn Oliver was arrested and charged with Fraudulent Use and Possession of Identifying Information, a second degree felony, and Possession of a Controlled Substance: to wit Methamphetamine, a state jail felony, as well as the outstanding warrants. 

She remains in jail on bonds totaling $786,750.
