A woman who was indicted for the sale or purchase of a child back in April of 2012 learned her fate in court Friday.

Joanna Huerta Delacruz was indicted for attempting to sell her baby to Marilu Munoz in 2011 for the amount of $2,000.

Munoz pleaded guilty to the charge in July of 2012 and received 7 years probation, with the stipulation that she could not adopt or start proceedings to adopt for the first three and a half years of her probation.

Munoz's husband had originally fled the country, but later returned only to be arrested and charged with a similar charge.

Like Munoz, Delacruz faced two to ten years in prison, however, Delacruz took a plea bargain Friday which gave her the minimum of only two years.

Delacruz has another matter which she must take care of in court and is scheduled for March.

She will begin serving her time in the TDCJ after the proceedings end.
