New Bakery to Offer Unique Cupcake Creations to Abilene

Abilene is about to get a little bit sweeter thanks to a new Key City bakery with plans to offer sugary specialties.

The bakery is named Sweet Life Cupcakes and will be located on the south-side near the Mall of Abilene.

The owner says the grand opening will be sometime around Valentines Day and the bakery will offer fun flavors like coconut, German chocolate and banana pudding.

At this point, the bakery is still in the process of moving in and setting up, but the owner, Jan Ford Ross, says if you have a sweet tooth it will be worth the wait.

"Just something different for Abilene, a unique experience," says Ross. "It's not the traditional cupcakes, or like when you go buy cake mix to do at home. This will be different flavors"

Ross also tells us she'll  be back in the kitchen baking every morning, as well as greeting customers.
