WACO, Texas -- Baylor opened the game on a 34-7 run and never looked back in a 107-38 win over Hardin-Simmons on Saturday afternoon in nonconference action at the Ferrell Center in Waco.

The Bears used their significant size advantage to get a variety of easy baskets and had as many offensive rebounds (24) as the Cowboys had total rebounds. Baylor won the battle of the boards 64-24. The Bears also turned 20 HSU turnovers into 32 points.

"This was a neat experience for our kids," said HSU head coach Craig Carse. "We came out and our players played hard. Obviously, Baylor had a huge size advantage and that is difficult to overcome.

HSU had 19 points in each half and finished the game shooting 28 percent from the field.

Darius Singletary led the Cowboys with eight points and Caleb Hogan had a career-best six points off the bench.

Taurean Prince was one of three Baylor players with a double-double. He had 21 points and 15 rebounds. Rico Gaters and Cory Jefferson each had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

The Cowboys are now 10-6 on the year and Baylor improved to 12-5 with the win. The Cowboys return home for an American Southwest Conference game at home on Monday at 7 p.m.
