The three suspects involved in a standoff with law enforcement officers in Colorado City were arrested just after midnight Tuesday. Their identities have not yet been released.

Senior Trooper Sparky Dean with the Texas Department of Public Safety released the following information early Tuesday morning:

Law Enforcement Officials have arrested three individuals that were hiding in a house in southeast Colorado City in Mitchell County.

Early Monday morning, a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper had stopped a vehicle for speeding over one hundred miles an hour while traveling east near the Mitchell - Howard County line on Interstate 20. As the Trooper approached the vehicle, the driver stepped out and began shooting. A pursuit ensued, with the violator.

The Trooper lost sight of the vehicle near the community of Loraine in eastern Mitchell County. Other officials found the abandoned vehicle on Farm Road 1230 near mile marker 230 of Interstate 20. A search of the area was canceled at about noon.

Just after 2:00 P.M., alert citizens called law enforcement when three males arrived at a house in southeast Colorado City.

Law Enforcement officials went to investigate the tip and found the three to be hiding and barricaded in the house. A perimeter was set up and nearby houses were evacuated as a safety precaution.

Just after midnight, officials made entry into the house and found the three hiding. The three were arrested without incident and transported to the Mitchell County Jail.

The identities of the three have not yet been determined. Additional information will be released in the morning.
