An accident caused some traffic problems on Interstate-20 in central Taylor County.

An 18-wheeler flipped over about 10:45 Monday night just west of Merkel.

Merkel firefighters had to cut the seat belt to free the truck driver from the tractor.

Emergency medical technicians brought the man to Hendrick Medical Center, but the officers say his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The Merkel Police Department is investigating the accident.

The accident blocked traffic on the eastbound side of the freeway.
