Murder Trial Begins with Unusual Twist

An Abilene murder trail began Tuesday with a strange twist

Danny Calamaco is accused in the November 2010 shooting of Steve McCain on the corner of Ambler and Bridge.

Calamaco went on the run for three days after the shooting then turned himself in.

Police say it was an argument over a tattoo gun that ended with Calamaco shooting McCain two times.

In a jail house interview, Calamaco said it was someone else who shot. and that he came out of the house he was living in on the corner of Ambler and Bridge and chased the suspect car away.

Calamaco then said he ran from the scene because he new he would be charged with the shooting.

Finally, in an unusual incident Tuesday morning during jury selection, Calamaco actually participated in selecting his own jury, a process usually left up to one's attorney.

The DA PROVED what a coward Calamaco is. PROVED he MURDERED my baby brother. Steven can now REST IN PEACE. The "little guy" wins in the end. Guilty = 99 25
