Public Meeting Thursday to Discuss Abilene Oil Well

By: BCHP News Staff
Updated: May 15, 2013
On Abilene's City Council agenda is a public hearing and vote to allow Prensorus Energy to drill and operate an oil well within city limits.

The plot of land sits just south of Highway 80 west near Dyess Air Force Base.

Because of its proximity to the base, the FAA completed a study to ensure there would be no hazard to air navigation.

City staff are recommending the council's approval, however, the public can have its say this Thursday at 8:30 a.m. on the second floor of City Hall.
