City Council Approves Abilene Drilling

By: BCHP News Staff
Updated: January 24, 2013
An Abilene energy company has been approved to drill and operate an oil well within city limits.

The plot of land sits just south of Highway 80 West near Dyess Air Force Base.

Because of it's proximity to the base, the FAA completed a study to ensure there would be no hazard to air navigation.

The council unanimously approved the agreement Thursday morning.
