Sale of Former Elementary Moves Forward

By: BCHP News Staff
Updated: January 24, 2013
AISD can now move forward with the sale of a former elementary school property.

City Council approved a corrected deed to the land.

In August of last year, AISD sold the former Travis Elementary School property to an independent buyer, but before they could close the deal a local title attorney discovered that half of the property Travis sits on is still titled to it's former owner,  the City of Abilene.

The mistake was found on a 1959 deed from the city to AISD.
