Federal Fugitive and Husband Arrested in Haskell

A federal fugitive and her husband were arrested at a Haskell motel early Thursday morning.

Haskell police Chief Richard Candelaria says 26-year-old Jessica Chronister was wanted by federal agents on drug charges out of Oklahoma.

The FBI says Chronister was able to elude capture after breaking off an electronic ankle bracelet.

Chronister's husband, 28-year-old Juan Carlos Rodriguez, was arrested and charged with aiding and abbeting a fugitive. He also faces immigration charges.

A third person, 21-year-old Lanken Beecroft, was also arrested and charged with aiding and abbetting.

Chief Candelaria says five children were with the trio and were placed into CPS custody.

Officers with the Haskell County Sheriff's Office and DPS assisted with the arrests.
