Cisco could soon be a tourist destination in the coming years according to the Economic Development Center.

Those with the center say the goal is to make Cisco more desirable to visitors, and this means some major construction around town, Including several downtown buildings being renovated and new businesses moving in.

There could be the possibility of a new  hotel, apartment complex, and even new retail stores.

"I can't imagine that anyone would not want us to grow," says business owner, Mary Kay Williamson, "as long as you have a good plan and management so that we can grow in a responsible way"

At this point, the Cisco Development Corporation says it is just in the beginning stages with negotiations and contracts, but construction could be starting as early as June of this year.
