Church Members Shocked By Owners Response to Feud

Last month this store wasn't allowed to sell alcohol because its less than 300 ft. away from the Church of Christ just across the street.
"I mean they're going to sell it somewhere, it's just you just ought not do it in front of a church building," said Larry Wilson, who is an elder at the church.
That is until now.
It seems owners at the CEFCO convenience store have taken matters into their own hands.
Literally.
"How they handled it, that's kind of whats disappointing," said Jackson.
They've moved their door about 10 ft.
If you measured their old door it would have been about 298 ft. from the nearest intersection to the front doors of the church.
Now it's barely passed the three hundred mark, but nonetheless, its far enough.
Jackson was shocked by the move.
"To move a door 10 foot, that shows you how little respect they have for religion," he said.
He and other members like Wilson had fought to get the ordinance passed.
"I really didn't think they'd go through with it, I really didn't," said Wilson.
Now, there's not much they can do but stand and watch and well, take their shopping elsewhere.
"I guess I'll drive to Cross Plains, Cisco," said Jackson.
We contacted administrators at CEFCO headquarters, but they have no comment.
But the message is clear, they'll be able to sell alcohol-by about 10 ft.
