Reminder: Eastland's Water System to Undergo Maintenance Monday

By: Press Release
Updated: January 28, 2013
Due to warranty and maintenance work to the City of Eastland's water systems, citizens can expect to see water running down the streets Monday, January 28.

The spillage will be the results of eliminating excessive water pressure to the system due to the continuous pumping from the water supply.

"During this maintenance process the city's water tower atop Park Hill will need to be emptied," said Eastland Public Works Director Bobby Jacoby, "and to do this we will stop pumping to the tower from the water supply district, allowing the tank to drain under normal use. At that time the city will be supplied water direct from the pumps at the water district plant and a continuous pumping creates excessive water pressure in the lines. To relieve excess pressure we will open fire hydrants in certain areas, mainly in an area on the west end of Plummer street, along Neblett street and around the high school hill."

There should be no need for any type of water restrictions during this maintenance time. Should you have questions about this matter, please feel free to contact City Hall at 254-629-8321.
